Nature is Calling "Internship" 

How did I get the internship? 

During fall of 2015 I was thinking about finding an internship in marketing, so I could gain some experience and practice for what I have learned from marketing courses. I was wondering about the person that I need to talk with to get the internship. Meanwhile, I visited professor Reeder at her office and we chatted about classes and how I could gain any work experience in my field. Then she told me about an opportunity that she had, which I loved. After finishing the application for this opportunity, professor Reeder asked me about three things that I need to do. Firstly, we needed to meet every Thursday to write memos and prepare a presentation about everything I had learned.

Nature is Calling, is a small business that represents nature and wildlife as well. Moreover, it is a trade market, copyrighted, and taglined to be used on various products including:

What did I learn from this awesome experience?

Generally, when you practice anything that you have learned you will be good at it. For example, learning a second language for me was challenging and I didn't get better until I started practicing with native speakers or watching movies. So, if you are willing to be smarter in anything you must work as much as you can to get to your goal. The most important thing that I have learned is how to start a business. I strongly agree that its not easy and it requires a huge effort. If you want to start your own business, you would need these things.

In the end, I would love to thank professor Reeder for giving me this brilliant chance. I also highly recommend anyone who wants to be successful in your major, you must find an internship that fits your desires.

Marketing and Sports

Nowadays, we see advertisements all the time, but marketers choose the most active times on TV or in the streets, especially during football or soccer seasons because there are plenty of people watching or attending games. Furthermore, sports has no specific gender or age and everyone tends to be a fan of their own sport. The thing that grabbed my attention last year was the TV advertisements during the "Super Bowl" here in the United States.

When I first start studying business marketing I did not even think about the sport seasons. Now it plays a big role in the market and the best thing about it is, it is targeting all ages and genders. At the same time, all marketers need to understand their consumers. If they created the best ad for a product that no one would care about, they are not going to achieve what they're looking for. 

So, all marketers need to work smarter not harder. It takes time to persuade consumers. While I was reading about this topic, I found out that there is a special time for doing marketing and it's different in social media, newspaper and TV. If I wanted to talk about this it would take me forever but I did find an amazing article that describes everything about the "perfect time."

Just remember that marketing is everything and we are not going to live without it. We cannot live without it because we will not be able to know about new services or products, right? Right.

The most important thing that we need to understand as marketers is that marketing is a culture, and we have to respect all of our consumers so they feel safe while watching us on the market. In the end, when you are watching any type of advertisement try your best to get the main idea that the brand or the company is delivering to the market.

Omg....Apple is Everywhere!!

As we all know, that Apple is everywhere and everyone is using its products like Pc's, laptops, smartphones, Apple TV and watches. What amazed me was, while I was studying at Cold Smoke I looked around me and I saw more than ten people that were using Apple laptops and  more. Nowadays, there are many companies and schools that are using only Apple computers and tablets.

Wow!!!

It could be really helpful for students because there are many applications that help for better and faster learning. At the same time, plenty of college students use Apple products to take notes or record lectures, which is way easier. I also have five sisters and all of them are using Apple smartphones and laptops. 0__0   

Isn't it great to see everyone liking the same brand or product? I think it's awesome because these days technologies are getting developed so fast. It is  not just Apple, but  many different companies that are trying to compete in the market.  

Why do people love Apple?  

• Great customer service Online and in-store
• The company makes you feel that you are attached to it
• Apples make its own ideas
• Ease of use 
• Smooth design
• Simple
• Easy to save all of your information

I always read about Steve Jobs and how he was facing many troubles, but never even thought about giving up. So, Apple now is in every country and most of the people are using all of its products. The thing that grabbed my attention was its earnings for last year and how it's coming and growing so fast.

Personally, I really like using all of the Apple products that I need like iPhone, Apple TV, laptop and iPad. There are many reasons that have made me only use Apple and I will never consider changing the products. One of the reasons, is you can pair all of your Apple products into one iCloud account so you can text and FaceTime from your other devices, not just your phone.

TeamWork

While I was studying in high school we didn't have many group assignments. Working as a team has many advantages, for example, sharing ideas, meeting new people and learning from each other, as well as sharing cultures and different languages. In my first business class, I had a group project. There were five people in our team: one guy was from China, I am from Saudi, and the rest were Americans from different states. 

We shared a lot of things, like the difference between our languages and cultures. At the same time, we worked hard because it was our first group project and all of us were scared of doing something wrong and losing points.  I still know all of them today.

Nowadays, I have made many awesome friends and all of that was from having a lot of group projects and more. In my advanced marketing classes we had to do plenty of different projects in which you meet new people, but the best thing is all of the team members respect each others' ideas and comments.     

Why do I prefer group projects instead of individual projects?  

• Sharing our brilliant ideas together
• Learning from each other
• Making friends
• Trusting each other

Use of Applications

Nowadays, there are 1.6 million applications. Many people have more than 7 applications in their smartphones but they are just using three or four of them. While I was doing  research about this topic, I found out that 70% of total users are downloading from the top 200 applications in the Apple store and google play.  Plenty of adults and teens are using many apps and they do have apps for different things. For example, Pinterest is for sharing pictures with family and friends. Users of Pinterest can make a secret board where no one can see the posts-- only the people that you have picked.

Personally, I use more than six applications for health tracker because it gives me some motivation to drink water on time and not miss my workout. Snapchat is one of the most active applications these days because it has a unique feature which allows for easy communications.

Since there are too many different applications, we need to use them wisely. In this case, parents must watch their kids in the use of any applications because there are many bad apps which are not for young people. I recommend that the creators of the applications have age policies to save our kids from learning or practicing bad stuff.

Family

The best motivation always comes from our families. Every successful person has  strong family support, because you are one of them and they want the best for you. Before coming to the United States, I was so worried because I hadn't lived alone or had any hard responsibilities. Nowadays, I am here in Montana and I will graduate next fall 2016. My family was the reason I studied abroad.

I am the only boy in my family. I have five sisters and I used to be sad because of not having older or younger brothers. Nowadays, I feel positive about  having five sisters and I also feel that I need to take care of the whole family even though my father is doing this while I am here in the United States. Each one of my sisters gives me a special kind of support and it doesn't have to be money or gifts. I can become stronger just by learning some experiences from my older sisters or having a nice little chat with them.

Parents are always the source of advice for their kids and support with money and everything else that they need. Studying abroad made me miss my family everyday and sometimes I do get homesick. Since parents are very special to us, we must take care of them at all times and never leave them alone.

TV ad's in Saudi Arabia and marketing

In each country there is a marketing policy which everyone must follow. In Saudi Arabia, there are many different rules for the way each company advertises. For example, TV advertisement  is for all genders and ages so should not include ads that are unethical.

 Let's say that there is a condom company in Saudi and it wants to market the new products. Of course, it can but should not break the rules. In the United States, marketing culture is very different. There is  an ethical and  polite way of showing people any ad either on TV or social media. 

TV ads that are not allowed in Saudi:

• Cigarettes
• Condoms
• Alcoholic products

Plenty of companies have made a big mistake, which is doing marketing on products that could bring cancer to users. For example, a cigarette company should write the bad effects of using the product during the marketing campaign and on the item it self. I would like to include some good Saudi TV ads. There are some differences in marketing style in each country and all we have to do is respect each other's policies. TV ads here in the United States are very creative and awesome because they are working hard to make everyone like the ad, especially their consumers.

How did I choose my major?

After graduating from high school I thought a lot about what should I major in in college . I always wanted to work at a hospital because I  volunteered a couple times and I loved  working with people and  helping them. In addition, I was planning to pick a major that would help me  get promoted in hospitals. I did ask my relatives who work at hospitals or studied the health industry. The thing that changed my mind was the long time that I would have to spend studying which would  be more than five years.  

After awhile I decided on Mechanical Engineering, but I am not a big fan of science. So my father told me "Just go and study English, then think about what you want to start your career with." I was reading a lot about business majors and I felt that I could be creative in this kind of major. 

Finally, I finished with the English institute here in Bozeman and I did pick business marketing, which I really love now, and when I see creative friends I always recommend them to go for marketing. 

Tips you need before choosing a major:

• What kind of work you want.
• Time you are willing to spend in college.
• Explore and ask.
• What are your interests?
• Follow your dreams.
• Finally, check major requirements.

Nowadays, I am helping my relatives who have their own business with marketing strategies and how to deal with their consumers. I also have done some used cars sales with one of my uncles and he was so happy about what I did with him.

Web Analytics

In today’s world, technology plays a key role in every aspect of life. Many innovations and technical tools are being developed and introduced to the world. Among these is the web analytics tool, which is a recent technology paradigm that enables businesses to track users’ behavior on the Internet.

 The main purpose of this tool is to collect data, analyze it, and then use it to improve webpages. However, the collected data is not only used for IT purposes, but also for marketing purposes. It helps in marketing research by providing useful data for advertising.

 The way this tool works is by recording every move the user performs on the Internet, from mouse movements to online purchasing. The collected data is then analyzed, and according to this analysis the browser suggests and displays ads. For instance, if a user googled “Nike” and visited its website, the ads that would appear for this user would probably be a Nike product.

 In other words, the ads that appear to online surfers come mostly from their online activities. A good example of a web analytics tool is Google analytics, which is a powerful market research tool.

 It collects a huge amount of information about web-page traffic and visitors and provides this data in a form of reports. The generated reports can be used to make better marketing decisions about a website.  To sum up, the benefits derived from using web analytics tools are broader than advertising. The tools understand users' behavior and targets potential customers.

Healthy Eating

When I was in elementary school, I used to eat junk food for most of my daily meals. My mom was always scolding me because of my eating habits. Day by day, I got my mom's point and why she was telling me to stay healthy either through my food or my activities. Nowadays, I am eating  healthy foods even though I do like American pizza and most of the unhealthy types of food. Working out at least five days  every week is a great routine. I was wondering about my fat percentage and so I did  the "BodyComp" test, which tells you everything you need to do to stay healthy. 

Why do I love being healthy?

• I don't want to have a belly
• I don't have difficulties with sleeping 
• I Stay away from obese disease 
• I am in shape
• I am in love with fruits and vegetables
• Weight control
• Enhanced mood
• Longer life

Recommendations for you :) 

Always stay hydrated and never ever skip meals; try to set a time for each meal so you don't eat when you get hungry-- eat to feed your body. Staying active also makes you feel better when  70% of your food is unhealthy. Please get up and change to be wiser and healthier. 

Here is a perfect picture that describes the difference between clean eating and unclean eating.  I will leave the decision up to you :)

  I always have a day or two days a week that I leave kind of open because having a clean diet  for ever is too hard-- so, eat what you enjoy but control yourself.

Public Speaking

Speaking in public was one of the hardest things for me. Nowadays, I feel comfortable while speaking in front of people that I don’t know very well. When I first came to the United States, I wasn’t afraid of talking--it was more shyness and I was always scared to pronoun something incorrectly. I did take a public speaking class when I started here at the English Institute. So, practicing a lot helped me to improve the skill of speaking in front of anyone either in a class or out of class. There are plenty of things that I did just to have the speaking skills and also speaking in a second language with anybody. For example, I watched videos, read and practiced in front of friends.  

How to become a public speaker? 

1- Pick the best subject for yourself

2-Practice

3-Use visuals

4-Do some research

5-Write what you are going to say

6-Make it simple

7-Don't be afraid and focus

Nowadays, there is nothing that you can achieve without putting in some effort. So, what we all need to do is practice and also work smarter not harder. Then you will easily get what you have planned for. I found a great video that  gives you an awesome example of how you can speak in public.

At the end, you must practice as much as you can. I highly recommend that you speak when you are alone-- I know it sounds weird but that's what I have done and it's made a big difference.
